FAQ
Common Questions
For major conferences and corporate events, we recommend reaching out 3-6 months in advance to ensure availability. Marcus typically books 60-80 engagements per year, and popular dates — particularly September through November and January through March — fill early. That said, we do accommodate shorter timelines when schedule allows. Contact us with your preferred dates and we will let you know availability immediately.
Speaking fees vary based on the format (keynote, half-day workshop, or multi-day engagement), location, and customization requirements. We are happy to discuss pricing on a call once we understand your event's scope and goals. Marcus offers special rates for nonprofit organizations and association events. Virtual keynotes are priced separately from in-person engagements.
Yes — customization is a core part of every engagement. Before each event, Marcus conducts a discovery call with the organizer and, when possible, a sample of attendees to understand the audience's industry, challenges, and goals. He then tailors examples, case studies, and exercises to ensure the content is directly relevant. No two keynotes are identical.
Marcus offers several engagement formats:
- Keynote Address (45-60 minutes) — A focused, high-impact presentation ideal for conference main stages and all-hands meetings
- Extended Session (90 minutes) — A keynote plus moderated Q&A or panel discussion
- Half-Day Workshop (3-4 hours) — An interactive deep dive with exercises, breakout groups, and action planning
- Full-Day Workshop (6-7 hours) — Comprehensive training on a single topic with hands-on implementation
- Executive Roundtable (2 hours) — An intimate facilitated discussion for up to 25 senior leaders
- Virtual Keynote (30-45 minutes) — Delivered from a professional broadcast studio with live audience interaction
For in-person events, Marcus requires a lapel or headset microphone (not handheld — he uses the stage actively), a confidence monitor or floor monitor, HDMI connectivity for his presentation laptop, and a dedicated AV tech for the duration of his session. For virtual events, Marcus streams from his professional studio in San Francisco and only needs the platform link and a tech rehearsal scheduled 48 hours before the event. His team provides a detailed technical rider upon booking.
Yes. Marcus has spoken in 12 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. International engagements include travel and accommodation costs in addition to the speaking fee. For international events, we recommend booking at least 4-6 months in advance to allow time for logistics coordination. Marcus also offers high-production virtual keynotes as an alternative for international audiences where travel logistics are challenging.
Absolutely. Marcus is an experienced panel moderator and panelist, and he is a natural fit for fireside chat formats. For panels, he prefers to have a pre-event call with the moderator and fellow panelists to ensure the conversation is substantive and well-structured rather than surface-level. For fireside chats, he works with the interviewer beforehand to develop questions that will create genuine insight for the audience.
Marcus's engagement does not end when he leaves the stage. Standard post-event support includes a digital resource kit for attendees with frameworks, reading recommendations, and implementation guides related to the keynote topic. For workshop engagements, this also includes workshop materials and action plan templates. Marcus is also available for a follow-up virtual Q&A session (typically 4-6 weeks post-event) to help attendees troubleshoot implementation challenges. Details are outlined in the engagement agreement.
